How landscape design fosters community
Mount hanging baskets with flowering plants on your front porch for a beautiful seating area or keep things simple with low-maintenance evergreen shrubs planted in pots if you’re not confident with your green thumb. If your house has natural wood shingles, a wooden picket fence or wooden arbor will pair perfectly. If your house has blue trim, include some blue flowers in your garden design.

Your bubbles might include screening the view of the neighbor’s yard, pathways, new flowerbeds, a patio, and a location for the kids’ swing set. It may show where you’d like to plant trees and shrubs, or where you’d like them removed. On your base map, draw circular or blobby areas (bubble diagrams) to represent the ways you want to use different parts of your yard. Your bubbles don’t have to be round—draw them in different configurations and shapes as needed, but remember to label each one with its intended use.
The plant key tells you what plants are being used and where they will be placed. Each type of plant in the site layout section of the plan has a symbol with a line going to it.

Landscaping ideas are great, but without the right landscape designer or landscaping company to bring them to life, they’re just ideas. Landscape designers—or other landscaping professionals, including landscape architects—can offer guidance on installing outdoor features, including some landscaping ideas that boost home value. They take yards beyond simple lawn care tips to spaces that feel like extensions of the indoors, and picking the right one is key to a successful working relationship—and a stunning yard. For small residential projects such as planting trees or installing a patio, some landscape designers charge $50 to $150 per hour for a 1-2 hour consultation in the initial stages of the design process. A typical garden design for a residential home ranges from $0.05 to $0.15 per square foot.

In contrast, Western landscape design tends to be more formal and structured. Their colors are also a riot of colors, with a wide range of flowers, foliage, and other elements that create a vibrant and dynamic visual experience. One distinct advantage in our process is the 3-Dimensional plan that allows you to see an exact rendering of how your project will look when completed. This 3-D plan not only helps your ability to envision finished product, but will also guide our installation team with taking a concept on paper and producing it exactly as you and your designer have planned.
